It’s a tardy con report, but better late than never, right??
Back in March I went to Anime Matsuri in Houston, TX. The convention dates fell during spring break and it also gave me an occasion to go see my boyfriend who’s currently there for work. I traveled there by myself which meant none of my usual cosplay friends came with me to the convention. I would love to go back if I ever have the chance, but only if I can drag someone with me! Cosplay isn’t as fun without friends.
I was supposed to wear Eternal Sailor Neptune, a new cosplay, but sadly I couldn’t finish it in time. Personally, I’m not one who likes to rush costumes at the last minute since it usually makes me hate everything so I wore Snow White instead. In the end I’m very happy I did that because I received wonderful photos from the photographers I worked with. They were all amazing and friendly and honestly I would go back to Houston just to get to shoot with them again!
Sadly I didn’t take my camera with me so all my photos were taken with an iPhone. Sorry for the crappy quality of the images! I saw a lot of nice cosplays there and so many pretty lolitas. The convention invited a lot of big names from the lolita industry and their J-Fashion Show even had guest models from Baby the Stars Shine Bright, Alice and the Pirates and Putumayo.
I had 3 photoshoots with amazing photographers! Most of my cosplay photos so far have been with the same photographer so I was happy to work with different people who have their own style. It’s always great to work with photographers who make you feel comfortable and give you some sort of artistic direction for poses. If you ever have the chance I recommend contacting them for shoots!
