Everlasting Liquid Love Lipstick

Kat Von D's Everlasting Liquid Love Lipstick
I’m always on the lookout for a lipstick that will work with my sensitive lips and when I saw Kat Von D’s Everlasting Liquid Love Lipstick in very hot pink at Sephora, I just had to give it a try.

Despite its name Liquid Love Lipstick is more of a cross between a lipgloss and a lip stain than a lipstick. It applies like a lipgloss, dries like a matte lipstick and once it’s on, it stays on like a lipstain.

Cost:
$19 US | $23 CAD (Sephora)

Pros:

  • Longlasting
  • Colours are WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) with just one swipe
  • Can be used under lip moisturizer/balm
(shortens the long lasting effect but doesn’t smudge)
  • Easy application

Cons:

  • Awkward and ill-conceived packaging
(the tube is too small for the applicator which causes the liquid to spill out when reinserting it. My tip is to press the applicator hard against one side of the tube while inserting and have a tissue ready)
  • It can bleed on wrinkled/cracked lips

Overall, I really like this lipstick. The colours are bright and quick to apply and the lasting power is such that I can keep using lip balm over it and not have to reapply more than once a day. However, without any added moisturizer it can be drying.

The lipstick’s worse feature is definitely the packaging. I wondered why the tube was caked in lipstick at Sephora but found out why soon enough. Another downside is that I have to shake the lipstick before using as it will separate in a clear substance at the top and coloured one at the bottom.

For bold colours and long lasting convention wear, Everlasting Liquid Love is a great choice that will still look bright and perfect for pictures through eating and drinking.

If the colour is too bold, it can be mixed with a tiny bit of vaseline and applied like a tinted lipbalm.

This is actually the lip paint. There is a lipstick same name and all but the one you (and me!) have is the paint. I love bright bold matte lipcolors so this over the lipstick was a no brainer for me!
