Anime North is in one day and this year we’re ready! Actually, it’s only next weekend, but as usual we head over to Toronto on Wednesday to have time to relax and hang out before the convention. We’re hosting our “How to Con-Proof your costumes” panel with VickyBunnyAngel, but this year we also have a new panel about foundation garments for cosplay. Come see us talk about underwear, we promise to keep things interesting!

Otakuthon 2012 Con Report
This year’s Otakuthon was Awful-Heat-Wave Con! Since I nearly died of heat in my Margaret costume on Saturday, it got me thinking that I really should pick my future cosplays according to the temperature. The two cons we attend usually have 30°C + (90°F) weather, so it would be a smart idea to make lighter cosplays. Just something to think about, I guess!
The convention itself was nice. As soon as we got to Montreal, we started stuffing our faces on buns from the Chinese bakeries in nearby Chinatown (tradition)! Later on Friday we held our “Con-proofing your Costumes” panel at 8 p.m. which was fun as usual. This time we brought some examples to show people and also had a stack of our Cosplay packing checklist to give that I hope people liked.
Cosplay Packing Checklist
Packing for conventions is always a hassle, right? I always write a checklist of essential things to pack in my suitcase, but even then I'm always nervous that I'll forget something important at home. It's kind of a big deal especially when you travel long distances to go to a con. When you're cosplaying, forgetting just one accessory can put a damper on your weekend!
The following list should cover all the bases of your cosplay needs at a convention. Go ahead and print this file! I suggest that you then use the blank space to write down all the specific parts of your costume so that you don't forget anything cosplay-related when packing your suitcase.

Anime North in 1 Week and We’re Not Ready Yet!
Let me show you our progress in pictures! Actually, we’re almost ready, me being the one that still has the most work left to be done since I decided to completely do over my corset for Catherine about one month ago. We’re heading over to Toronto next Wednesday so that leaves us only 5 days to get everything finished!
Our cosplay schedule is:
Friday: Catherine and Katherine from Catherine
Saturday and Sunday: Elizabeth and Margaret from Persona 3 and 4
On Sunday at 12 pm we’re hosting a panel on cosplay construction with VickyBunnyAngel and Ani_BEE. See you there~!
